Many UK Water companies are now restructuring sludge strategies and are, as attentive procurers, considering all options for disposal of the increasing volumes of sludge.

Sludge Treatment in Reed Beds is a new long-term method in the UK for dewatering and treating sludge. The treatment method has, in Denmark, proven to be a cost effective, reliable and environmentally friendly solution and roughly 30 % of all sludge produced in Denmark is now treated in reed beds.
